Mr Henry Bourke is a specialist knee surgeon. He qualified from Imperial College, London in 2002. Medicine has always been in Mr Bourke’s family and he is a third-generation doctor following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.
He trained in orthopaedics in the South West Thames deanery in England before embarking on knee fellowship training in Australia in 2011 and 2012. He trained under the famous Professor Leo Pincezweski in North Sydney and then went through the Melbourne Knee Fellowship in Victoria. On return to the UK, he was appointed a consultant at Wexham Park Hospital - now part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust - in 2013.
Mr Bourke will listen to your individual story about your knee and will tailor a treatment plan to your lifestyle, sporting aspirations and personal needs. He has been a frustrated sportsman with different injuries for many years so he has an understanding of how knee injuries and pain can affect people. He is a keen trail-runner, tennis player and has a great passion for skiing.
Mr Bourke is the director of Wexham Cruciate, an international knee meeting which brings together surgeons from around the globe once every two years to discuss the latest techniques in knee surgery. He travels regularly to meetings and enjoys visiting other knee surgeons. Mr Bourke ensures he keeps his practice up-to-date so he can offer patients the latest technology and give advice about new treatments.
