The overarching theme that drives Fortius is Enabling Excellence, and our aim is simple, to provide: World Class Care and First Class Service. 

We are committed to delivering excellence in patient care, and benchmark ourselves against the quality framework used by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in their key lines of enquiry. The CQC assesses organisations across five areas to judge whether they are: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-Led. 

The CQC has rated Fortius as 'Outstanding' in recognition of our open culture, consistent approach to continuous improvement and our high quality care.

Quality leadership and accountability within Fortius flows from the Board. Our experienced board of directors comprising six clinicians, (James Calder, Andrew Davies, Damian Fahy, Jonathan Lavelle, Peter Rosenfeld, Andy Williams) three non-executive directors (Stephen Bennett, Tim Curry, Jonathan Levy) and the Chief Executive, Jim McAvoy. 

Jim McAvoy is CQC Nominated Individual on the Board, supported by the Quality Committee, chaired by Steven Corbett, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and by the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) led by Julian Redhead as Medical Director.

The Registered Manager for CQC is the Chief Operating Officer, Nicola Aspinall, and she is supported by the Quality Group, which has responsibility for service delivery and standards, ensuring continuous improvement (including inspection).
