Mr Evangelos Tsialogiannis is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, advanced sports knee surgery, and soft tissue reconstruction. He is one of the few surgeons in the UK performing the world-renowned AMIS (Anterior Minimally Invasive Surgery) hip replacement technique and has recently been recognised as a national trainer in anterior hip replacement surgery. His practice focuses on muscle-sparing hip replacement, rapid recovery pathways, robotic-assisted knee replacement, simultaneous bilateral hip replacement, and advanced soft tissue procedures for active patients and athletes.
Mr Tsialogiannis currently practises at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey, UK, where he specialises in hip and knee reconstruction, anterior hip replacement, knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, complex soft tissue knee injuries, trauma surgery, and periprosthetic fracture management. His philosophy centres on combining state-of-the-art minimally invasive techniques with enhanced recovery protocols to help patients return to mobility, sport, and daily activities as quickly and safely as possible.
Mr Tsialogiannis’s 28 years of surgical experience include 15 years in the Greek Army, where he served with the rank of Major as a senior medical officer. His military background provided extensive experience in trauma management, high-pressure surgical environments, and complex musculoskeletal injuries, experience that continues to influence his disciplined, patient-focused approach to orthopaedic care. His international military service included deployment within NATO and United Nations peacekeeping operations in the former Yugoslavia.
Mr Tsialogiannis completed two prestigious international fellowships at recognised centres of excellence in hip and knee surgery. He undertook a Royal College of Surgeons recognised Lower Limb Reconstruction Fellowship at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals, with advanced training in hip and knee replacement, minimally invasive surgery, and soft tissue reconstruction in younger adults. He subsequently completed a further fellowship at the internationally renowned Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada, one of North America’s leading arthroplasty institutions, where he trained alongside world-leading hip and knee surgeons including Hugh Cameron, John Cameron, and Jeff Gollish.
Mr Tsialogiannis has received numerous distinctions for both his surgical and military service. These include the Military Merit Medal, the United Nations Medal for service in NATO-led peacekeeping operations, and the Golden Cross of the Order of the Phoenix
