My neck treatment with Dr Towlerton

After many years of problems with increasing neck pain, I was recommended to Dr Towlerton by my sports massage therapist. My condition was having a significant impact on sporting and general activities, and I was taking strong painkillers on a regular basis with little effective relief.

Dr Towlerton impressed me on my first meeting with his methodical, analytical and proactive approach. We progressed through a number of procedures and helpful medication changes until we decided a trial of a spinal cord stimulator might be appropriate. The neck pain this treatment was targeted at has resolved almost completely enabling me to return gradually to a full range of sporting activity with no regular pain medication.

My favourite sport is horse riding, and I am now competing and hunting again and working back towards my previous levels, with an air jacket to protect the device in case of falls! Age and other injuries mean I need some extra support from time to time and I continue to consult Dr Towlerton and Professor Speed at the Fortius to get proactive help to manage any issues.
