Dr Bernardotto is a Consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sport and Exercise Medicine at University College London Hospitals (ULCH), as well as clinical lead for musculoskeletal medicine at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM). He is an expert in treating problems affecting the musculoskeletal system, from sport and soft tissue injuries to complex bone, muscle, tendon & joint pains. His specialist interest include back pain, neck pain and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.

He is the only dual-trained sport medicine consultant and osteopath (i.e. DO) in the UK, ensuring his approach to treatment is functional, holistic and patient-centred. Dr Bernardotto combines the best of traditional, complementary and regenerative medicine, where he uses shockwave therapy and cutting-edge orthobiologic treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to treat chronic pain, arthritis and other conditions of the musculoskeletal system.

Dr Bernardotto works in professional sport, where he is lead academy doctor at Fulham FC and medical officer for the British Boxing Board of Control. He has an interest in medical education and is the London Deanery training programme director for Sport & Exercise Medicine (SEM). He is also honorary lecturer and examiner at University College London (UCL) Medical School, and sits on the examination committee at the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine (FSEM) in Edinburgh.

He is active in clinical research, and is currently leading a study at UCLH on high-dose Omega-3 for chronic musculoskeletal pain.
