Dr Moghal obtained his medical degree from the University of Sheffield in 2002. Having gained a broad range of experience in a number of specialities, he then completed General Practice Vocational Training in the London Deanery in 2011, becoming a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Dr Moghal then went on to complete Higher Specialist Training in the Oxford Deanery in Sport & Exercise Medicine obtaining the Diploma in Sport & Exercise Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons, as well as a Master’s Degree in Sport, Exercise & Health from University College London. He appears on the GMC specialist register and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine.

Dr Moghal is currently the Lead Physician for the England Senior Men’s Cricket Team. As part of his role, he tours with the team both home and abroad. He has extensive experience in cricket having worked with the England team for a number of years as well as previously being the team doctor for Hampshire CCC.
 
He was also a Sports Physician with the English Institute of Sport and during this time worked with athletes from a broad range of Olympic & Paralympic Sports. During this time he spent 4 years as the Chief Medical Officer for GB & England Hockey culminating in being part of the team that travelled to the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. As well as this Dr Moghal has attended European Championships, World Cups and the Commonwealth Games in 2018. He was also part of the medical team for the Paralympic Games in 2012 and 2016. Dr Moghal was also a team doctor at Southampton Football Club for 4 years providing care to the first team and academy.
 
Previously, Dr Moghal has worked as a consultant in the NHS at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and acted as an examiner for the University of Bath’s Masters Degree in Sports Medicine. 
 
Dr Moghal has expertise in the assessment and management of acute and chronic sports injuries as well as in general musculoskeletal conditions not directly related to sport or exercise. His aims are to accurately diagnose musculoskeletal conditions and form effective treatment plans for patients in order to relieve pain and restore function. He is able to perform musculoskeletal ultrasound, joint injections as well as extracorporeal shockwave treatment. He is recognised by all major medical insurers.
