About Fortius

What to expect at your appointment

When you arrive, our reception team will welcome you and help you complete any outstanding registration information.

You will meet your consultant in a private consultation room. They will take the time to listen to your concerns, discuss your symptoms and medical history, and examine the affected area.

Your consultant will explain what they think may be causing your symptoms and whether any further investigations could help reach a clear diagnosis. Together, you will discuss the next steps and begin developing a care plan based on your individual needs.

If you require tests or scans, we may be able to arrange these on the same day. Where this is not possible, our team will help you find another suitable time.

What to expect at your appointment
Diagnostic imaging

Diagnostic imaging

If diagnostic imaging could help your consultant understand your condition or injury, they will refer you to our in-house radiology team.

Our imaging services include:

  • MRI scans
  • CT scans
  • X-rays
  • Ultrasound scans

Your consultant will explain which type of imaging they recommend, why it may be helpful and how the results could guide your care.

Treatment and procedures

Treatment and procedures

Following your assessment, your consultant will talk you through the treatment options available to you. This may include non-surgical care, an injection or another procedure.

If a treatment such as an injection is recommended, your consultant will explain what it involves, why it may help and any potential risks or side effects. This will be charged separately from your consultation.

If surgery is considered the most appropriate option, your consultant will discuss the procedure with you, including the expected benefits, possible risks and what your recovery may involve. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and take the time you need to make an informed decision.

Surgery may take place at Fortius Clinic London, Fortius Surgical Centre or Spire St Anthony’s Hospital, depending on your consultant, procedure and individual needs.

If you are using private medical insurance, you will need to obtain your insurer’s approval before attending any pre-operative assessments or undergoing surgery.
