Dr Julian Chakraverty is a fellowship trained Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist and specialises in all aspects of orthopaedic and sports medicine imaging. He works closely in elite sports including professional football, premiership rugby union, county cricket and athletics (including the UK Sports Institute). He is the lead doctor for Bath Rugby and also provides medical support services to Bristol City Football Club and Gibraltar Football Association.

Dr Chakraverty completed core training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery before commencing his radiology training. He also trained in osteopathy prior to his medical degree. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine (distinction award).

• Dr Chakraverty has an honorary senior lecturer role in Anatomy at the University of Bristol
• Dr Chakraverty has published widely in the peer reviewed osteopathic, orthopaedic, sports medicine and radiology literature (22 PubMed publications to date)
• Dr Chakraverty was the co-researcher for the validity study for the British Athletics Muscle Injury Classification system
• Dr Chakraverty has recently provided workshops on muscle injury for the England Football Association (men and women) and for the England and Wales Cricket Board
