Mr Richard Hampton - Professional Bio
Mr Hampton's clinical interests and expertise are in hip replacement surgery (including complex primary and revision procedures) and knee replacement surgery. He can advise and treat most conditions related to the hip and knee including arthritis, fractures, tendinopathies, bursitis, cartilage tears, loose bodies, impingement and painful hip replacements.
Richard Hampton qualified from St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School in 1988. After basic surgical training on the Northwick Park Hospital Surgical Rotation he undertook higher surgical training on the St Mary’s, Wexham Park, Royal Berkshire, Northwick Park, Chelsea and Westminster and Kingston Hospitals. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Kingston Hospital Trust in 2002 and has worked at the Elective Orthopaedic Centre in Epsom since it opened in 2004.
Richard is involved in the trauma management at Kingston Hospital managing isolated upper and lower limb injuries and also has a regular day case operating list where most of the workload is knee arthroscopy and metalwork removal.
