Mr Peter Rosenfeld Consultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon

Mr Peter Rosenfeld MBBS FRCS FRCS (Orth) is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at the Fortius Clinic, London. He is a former Head of the Foot and Ankle Unit at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and a founding consultant at the Fortius Clinic.

His practice is dedicated exclusively to foot and ankle surgery, with particular expertise in total ankle replacement, minimally invasive surgery, sports injuries and complex reconstructive surgery. He pioneered minimally invasive surgical techniques for the treatment of calcaneal fractures and has played a leading role in the development and adoption of minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery.

The foot and ankle is one of the most complex areas of the body, and no two patients are the same. Although two people may have the same diagnosis, the most appropriate treatment can be very different depending on their anatomy, lifestyle, expectations and long-term goals. Mr Rosenfeld believes that careful assessment is essential, and every treatment plan should be tailored to the individual rather than the condition alone.

Mr Rosenfeld has published extensively in the foot and ankle literature, with recent peer-reviewed publications focusing on total ankle replacement and sports medicine. He is an experienced educator and Honorary Surgical Tutor at Imperial College London, and an invited faculty member on numerous national and international educational programmes, including the International Diploma in Foot & Ankle Surgery, Bone & Joint Journal instructional webinars and BOFAS educational meetings. He is a regular faculty member on the BOFAS Basic and Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery Courses, the BOFAS Arthroscopy Course and international courses with the International Bone Research Association (IBRA). He also serves on a pan-European expert advisory panel for total ankle replacement, contributing to the evaluation and development of contemporary ankle arthroplasty. He is a member of the BOFAS Clinical Practice Committee, helping to promote education, innovation and the continued advancement of foot and ankle surgery.
