Mr Marcus Bankes - Professional Bio
Marcus Bankes has extensive experience treating hip conditions and injuries affecting young and active people, including hip impingement (FAI), hip dysplasia and arthritis. He is familiar with the specific needs of competitive athletes at all levels. He has particular expertise in hip arthroscopy, peri-acetabular osteotomy (PAO) and ceramic on ceramic total hip replacements. He lead the Young Adult Hip Unit at Guy’s Hospital, the tertiary referral centre for the South England, Wales and Northern Ireland until his move into independent practice in 2023.

Our 79,000 sq ft, seven-story, private hospital on Wigmore Street has 39 en-suite inpatient rooms, consultation and treatment rooms, and a physiotherapy suite.

Our partnership with Spire St Anthony’s Hospital allows us to provide orthopaedic surgery closer to our clinic. We treat a full range of conditions and perform joint replacement surgery using the latest Mako robotic assisted technology.
