UCL reconstruction surgery

UCL reconstruction surgery is used to repair an ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injury, particularly in athletes. It involves replacing the injured tendon with one from somewhere else in the body, for example from the wrist, forearm, toe, hip, knee or foot. Sometimes a donor tendon is used.

How long does it take to recover?

Recovery depends on the type of procedure and the previous level of activity, but can take between one and two years. Your surgeon will be able to discuss your recovery in more detail with you.

Shoulder replacement surgery is not as common as knee or hip replacement, but can be very effective in relieving joint pain and helping people to carry on with everyday activities.
Used for treating calcific tendonitis of the rotator cuff, this outpatient procedure uses ultrasound technology
Arthroscopy allows surgeons to use a type of keyhole surgery to diagnose and treat joint problems.
